Doug Mitchell
Doug Mitchell is a London‑based multimedia artist whose practice encompasses painting, sculpture, photography, sound and installation. He graduated from the Ontario College of Art and later taught stop‑motion animation at the Gallery of Stratford and sculpture at Western University. Over a career spanning decades he curated exhibitions such as Tom Benner’s ‘The Coves’ (1987) and Christopher Dewdney’s ‘Landscape Reading’ (1990) and presented his own works at the Embassy Cultural House. Mitchell often repurposes found objects, electronics and natural materials to investigate perception and the tension between technology and nature. His works are in numerous public collections in Canada.
