Julio Jorge Lelis Polanco
Julio Jorge Lelis Polanco is a Mexican visual artist whose work studies the ancient codices / books of Mexico. This codices can be found in the collections of the libraries / archives of Mexico City, Florence, Italy, Paris, France and Sevilla, Spain. The Codex that Julio was replicated concerns the production of Pulque an ancient alchoholic drink obtained from the Agave and Prickly pear cacti. Most of the original codices was burned by the Spanish after the conquest of Mexico 1521.
