Ruth Strebe is an artist who moved to Ontario in 1974 and studied photography and painting at the University of Western Ontario. In 1995 she began a long‑term project of drawing the Thames River using a grid system to emphasize the movement of trees and water. Her practice expanded in 2002 to include hand‑crafted artists’ books that combine photography, drawing, painting and prose. Strebe is an active member of the Forest City Gallery, London’s Art Discussion Group and the London Ontario Media Arts Association. She is represented by Circle Arts Gallery in Tobermory, Ontario.
