Our vision is to create an inclusive community where every language has a voice. To this end, we prepare bilingual participants to enter the field of community interpreting with the knowledge, skills, and ethical practices required for competent and recognized work in this unregulated profession in Canada.
Established in 1989, our agency started from a profound commitment to addressing the growing need for professional language services within our community. Our founding members embarked on a mission to construct a bridge that transcends cultural and linguistic barriers. Today, that bridge stands as a testament to our enduring dedication and unwavering resolve.
Our inaugural training program proudly graduated 25 cultural interpreters, many of whom remain integral members of our team to this day. Our journey began with a significant milestone in October of that year: our first assignment at Women’s Community House, now known as Anova, a shelter for women and their children escaping violence at the hands of their partners.
Over the years, Across Languages has evolved into a cornerstone of our local community, earning recognition as a leading authority in community interpretation and training on both provincial and national levels.
We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to collaborate with you, facilitating seamless communication with your clients and bridging the language divide together.
We look forward to working with you and helping you bridge the language gap with your clients.
